At Nuvolar, we believe technology should serve people and society. Our team actively participates in initiatives that create meaningful environmental and social impact.
Part of our team could proudly volunteered during the ‘Open Coding Night’, an amazing meet-up event we had the pleasure of hosting at our offices. Organised by MigraCode’s CodeWomen, these events are aimed at helping migrant, refugee women with limited resources from all over the world who have just started their career in the world of technology and programming.
Because health is the most basic right, we have been collaborating for years with the solidarity projects carried out by this international medical and humanitarian organization that provides medical treatment to victims of natural or human disasters and armed conflicts.
To help the 3 Wise Men this Christmas, at Nuvolar we have organised our own solidarity toy collection. Partnering with Casal dels Infants, our team will buy and deliver to this NGO toys, games, school and sports supplies aimed to boys and girls at risk of exclusion, so that no child is left without a gift this Christmas.
During 2 months, part of our team walked 6,000 steps a day 👣, choosing a sustainable mode of transport over cars or public transport. Partnering with Sanitas, participants were able to track their progress through an app and everyone who completed this challenge received a planted tree from Sanitas in exchange.
To celebrate Earth day, we organised a very challenging event for our team: Cleaning up a piece of land at a beautiful natural forest near Barcelona where an invasive plant needed to be removed. In collaboration with Reforesta, we were able to remove over 50 bags of this invasive specie and also took the chance to organize an educational workshop to promote awareness for rural development.
We created a very special challenge aimed at reducing the risk of exclusion of 1,700 children. Our goal was to collect money to provide technology and educational training to these children. In collaboration with “Casal dels Infants” organization, we asked our team to walk as much as possible and monitor their steps until reaching the goal of 1,239 Kms (distance between Barcelona & Brussels).
Great efforts deserve great rewards! The winners of our social challenge #Walking4theirFuture found a very special gift on their desks that undoubtedly rewarded their effort: a UNICEF card accrediting they had gifted a vaccination kit that would be used to vaccinate 20 children against polio, measles, and tuberculosis. UNICEF delivers the kits to the countries where they are needed most.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to collaborate with Fundación Juegaterapia on a very special challenge: we encouraged our team to buy video games that this association could deliver to children in the hospital while undergoing treatment. We were able to buy several video games as well as a console!
